One fateful September afternoon as a bored and imaginative thirteen-year-old, Tessa Maurer began writing in Microsoft Paint what would later become a 50k word fantasy novel. It was far from perfect—or grammatically correct—but it sparked a passion for writing that has since spawned half a dozen novels and a career as a professional writer and editor.
A job in the arts certainly wasn't farfetched; rather, it was inevitable. Aside from drawing since she could hold a pencil, Tessa is also the great-granddaughter of Moe Howard of The Three Stooges, her grandfather was writer/producer/comic book illustrator Norman Maurer, and her father and uncle are prolific screenwriters. Needless to say, her upbringing was far from typical. This inherent creativity is what makes her work stand out, whether novel, screenplay, website, or anything else that lands on her desk. She currently lives in Los Angeles, CA, and offers services as a writer, editor, and proofreader from fiction to sales copy. Her darkly vibrant art can be purchased via her shop.
